FLUX

Project working with TED (Textiles Environmental Design). 
Chosen Ted point: Up-cycling/recycling & minimizing waste material, ideally want to combine the two ideas together. 

Theme: 

During our trip to Paris to participate in the Indigo show at Premiere Vision, I visited a flea market called 'Marché aux Puces St-Ouen de Clignancourt' where I found an incredible shop/stall called Tombees Du Camion' which literally translates to 'fallen from truck'.

It had a mixture of tiny, bizarre objects from dolls eyes to fake noses to small glass bottles, all displayed in small boxes around the walls. The owner arranges some of the toys/components/accessories around the shop in interesting ways and it really captured me. I spoke to him and he said he collects all of these 'unique objects from various factories around France, old and new, by sourcing produce from them that is going to waste or being discarded. He then dismantles them to get all of the different parts of a piece or gets them given to him like this as they are not needed anymore. Here are some pictures from his shop:
