DRAWING WITH JOHN >>>>>>

:) During the second week of the pop up drawing we had the pleasure of being taught by a tutor at camberwell college of design called John and he had previously worked at Chelsea as well. He was extremely insightful and was constantly saying how barmy we all arrrre which is probably true. We had a set of three drawing excercises through the day..

1>>> METAMORPHOSIS. Choose two objects from your collection and morph them together through 5 stages from one to the other. Actually quite hard to do but it really got out mind working at 10am
I CHOSE to use the large spoon and the coffee mug because they had totally different shapes but interesting ones that could fit.

2>>>> INVENT. look at one or more of your objects and create different purposes compared to their original ones.
I CHOSE to look at the collection of spoons that I have, about 9 all together ranging in size, and designed a 'series of weapons' out of them. Slightly odd but they kind of worked and it was fun making up the different names.

3>>>>> INNER WORKINGS. We had to choose a different object from the others we had used already and show how we think that object was made through whatever way we want.
I CHOSE to loom at a ring I have that bends with the knuckle and almost replicates a small piece of armour and did a straight forward yet detailed drawing of how the ring functioned as it bent with the shape of the finger. This was my favourite drawing of the day and thankfully, John agreed>>>> HERE ARE THE PIECES.
